Orphans leave the orphanage unadapted to reality. And there is no one to support them in adult life. They do not understand how to communicate with people outside the orphan system; they do not know how to do the housekeeping, look for a job, and so on.
The Compass Program is a special complex of psychological and social trainings, as well as vocational guidance excursions. It allows orphans to see the world from different angles and unleash their own potential. We create real and game situations, in which teenagers learn to make independent decisions, look for the necessary information, and navigate in space and time, plan expenses.
We have already conducted dozens of excursions at various enterprises, where fosterlings were taught to prepare and make beds, knit and provide first aid to the injured, repair machines, take professional photos, and solve managerial tasks. Our fosterlings learned to organize household, pay for the housing and public utilities, use the portal of public services, compose a food basket, and plan a budget and much more.
But the most important thing is that we teach children to communicate, to find real friends and helpers, to trust, to love, to take responsibility for their future and to be the author of their own destiny.
